Clawson is known as the ‘Little City with the Big Heart’ and our downtown is truly the heart of the city.

Our heartbeat is strong as our downtown experiences a time of renewed energy and growth. Through the application of the Main Street approach to revitalization and the combined efforts of the Downtown Development Authority, downtown businesses, the city and its residents – our downtown is booming!

A major streetscape project was completed in November 2010 bringing increased on-street parking, new landscaping, brick sidewalks, decorative streetlights, planter boxes, and bike racks among the new improvements.

Existing business and property owners have continued the improvements with facade renovations and expansions. New businesses are joining our downtown and prospects are inquiring daily.
